This animation revolves around the substance of the modern world – sand. It's in almost everything that surrounds us and it is the second most consumed material in the world. The illegal mining and endless exhaustion reflect urban consumer culture and combine destructive and constructive elements. Sand is mined from the sea and coasts and cities are being built rapidly, but the natural resource can’t renew itself at that rate.Things are getting lost and gained in this period of transformation.
